Metal Masher or Little Canyon Rim(on Google)
This trail is a lot of fun.
4 Out of 5 on the difficulty scale. We mashed a lot of metal but kept it to the plating on the underside of the Blue Burro.
Fun uphill narrow waterfall climb, lots of ledges and a spectacular view and drive on the ledge of the canyon. Lots of larger ledges to try with work arounds for most.
The section leading up to the canyon viewpoint is missing some description in the book I think. The uphill waterfall with a ledge was the spot we had the most trouble with and it had no reference in the mileage marker instruction. It followed the description for 5.9 (see the images included) It was a 3' to 4' waterfall/ledge that I got pretty high centered on. I finally found a line to get up it, before I almost gave up and pulled out the winch rope.
Be sure to get your copy of: Guide to Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails 3rd Edition Other than the one spot I found it to be accurate for navigation. Also use my GPS file below and watch for the white marks on the rocks to keep you on track.
Lift and lockers are needed on this ride as well as other vehicles to winch to if needed.
We did not do the "Widowmaker" side of the loop due to time. I hope to go back and try it another time.
I was slightly disappointing that I didn't get to use my X-Bull 13K Winch but is was nice knowing it was there and available if I or anyone I was off-roading with got in a jam.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_gallery interval="3" images="17876,17878,17879,17880,17881,17882,17884,17885,17886,17888,17889,17890,17891,17892,17894" img_size="full"][vc_gallery interval="3" images="17873,17894,17893,17883" img_size="full"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation="" row_type="row" use_row_as_full_screen_section="no" type="full_width" angled_section="no" text_align="left" background_image_as_pattern="without_pattern"][vc_column][vc_column_text]
