A very challenging 4 wheel drive trail beginning in Catalina AZ and finishing in Oracle AZ. "The Gap" as it's called is located in the San Maniego Ridge which is part of the Catalina Mountains.
This is not a road for stock jeeps or 4 wheel drive vehicles. Two or more inches of lift and at least 1 locker is a good starting point for this trail. We did have 2 stock Rubicons that made it with minor issues.
Spotters are suggested in a couple challenging climbs and large rocks entering one of the water crossings.
There are several water crossings and some, where you drive in the creek for a length of time. Be very cautious during the monsoon season!
This is by far my favorite destination to wheel in southern Arizona.
The trail time is about 6 hours with a few rest/scenic breaks.
