[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]I purchased the Jeep JK Smittybilt 2763 Security Storage Vault Toolbox about 15 months ago. I really like this product and under normal wear and tear I'm sure it would serve you well.
I like to 4 wheel and crawl pretty heavily and give any product for my Jeep a thorough workout. Don't get me wrong, I don't abuse my Jeep carelessly, the "Blue Burro" is still a daily driver for me. It is a Jeep and I use it like it was built to be used and then some.
So for the repair, I began by taking everything out and removing the drawer. There are black tabs on the slides that you must lift one up and the other down to release the drawer.
Remove the old slides and check the screws for heavy wear. I had to match and replace 3 of the screws that were on the drawer.
Once the old ones are removed you can begin remounting the new slides. The slides I purchased almost perfectly realigned with the factory holes. I had to Drimel and expand one hole on each of the slides inside the case.
Pull the ball bearing part of the slides all the way to the front when you begin to put the drawer back in place. You may need someone to assist in putting the drawer back in. Be extra careful when putting it back in so you do not damage your new slides. You may have to wiggle the drawer very slightly to get it to close the first time. Once the slides are fully aligned and closed you will be shocked at how east the drawer slides in and out.
A tire chock (see the last pic below) fits perfectly between my gate and the box keeping it from moving around while I wheel and drive around.
Let me know any tips or tricks you use to secure you box and keep it from moving around.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
